Hi, I'm Julia, the owner and floral designer behind La Fleuriste de Chelsea. I've been in the floral industry for nearly ten years, and what continues to inspire me is the incredible beauty and artistry found in flowers themselves. I love the ever-changing seasons, the endless variety of blooms, their colours, textures, shapes, and the way nature effortlessly creates combinations that feel both wild and harmonious. To me, floral design is an art form that begins long before an arrangement comes together. From thoughtfully selecting each stem and choosing what to bring into the shop, to carefully considering colour palettes, movement, texture, and balance, every step is intentional. The greatest privilege is bringing those elements together to create something meaningful for the people who invite me to be part of their most cherished moments.
My journey has taken me from the changing seasons of Ottawa to the lush, tropical landscapes of Hawaii to Chelsea and each place has shaped the way I see flowers and design. I'm constantly inspired by the colours, textures, and natural beauty I've been fortunate enough to experience. Those influences come together in my work, creating designs that feel organic, timeless, and deeply connected to nature.
Beyond flowers, my greatest passions are family, community, and the relationships we build along the way. I believe the most beautiful moments are often the ones shared with the people we love, and it's a privilege to play even a small role in those memories. Whether it's a wedding, a celebration, or a quiet gesture of love or sympathy, I approach every arrangement knowing it represents something deeply meaningful to the people involved.
